Roegner champions historic investment into Northeast Ohio

COLUMBUS—Senator Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) championed the investment of $3.7 Billion to support local projects across Ohio, including 20 projects across the 27th Senate District. These dollars were included in Senate Bill 450, the Capital Budget Bill, which passed the Senate on June 6th.
“The Capital Budget reflects Ohio’s commitment to building stronger communities through strategic, long-term investments," said Senator Roegner. "I am proud to support funding for projects in and around the 27th Senate District that will enhance recreational and public facilities, ensuring these resources continue to serve our communities for years to come.”
The following projects in the 27th Senate District received funding in the Capital Budget:

Aurora Park Improvements, $1,000,000
Garrettsville Curtains Up Theatre Project, $452,323
Safer Futures, $425,000
Portage County Fairground Improvements, $300,000
Freedom Township Community Park Improvements, $121,000
Streetsboro City Center Park Playground, $100,000
Shalersville Township Park Enhancement, $50,000
Rootstown Community Park & Playground, $23,000
Lions Park Trail Improvements, $220,000
Geauga County:
Auburn Community Park Restroom Facility, $50,000
Summit County:
Blossom Music Center Improvements, $900,000
Oxbow Meadow Project, $400,000
IBH Addiction Recovery Centers, $350,000
Hale Farm & Village Restoration Project, $200,000
Hope & Healing Emergency Shelter Safety & Restoration Project, $200,000
Macedonia Longwood Park Pickleball Courts, $125,000
Copley Township Park Improvements, $100,000

The legislature generally passes a Capital Budget every two years, funding improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including schools, infrastructure, and mental health and addiction facilities. Senate Bill 450 includes:
$645 Million for the Public Works Commission
$611 Million for the School Facilities Commission
$425 Million for Higher Education Institutions
$385 Million for the Department of Behavioral Health
$265 Million for the Department of Natural Resources
Senate Bill 450 now goes to the Ohio House for further consideration.
